Volleyball Game Preview: Johnston Panthers vs. Central Knights

The Johnston Panthers will take on the Central Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Johnston, who comes in off a win.

While Johnston's victory against Woonsocket wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Villa Novans 3-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Villa Novans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Johnston who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-9.

Meanwhile, Central suffered their biggest defeat since May 6, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Central Falls, falling 3-0. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win got Johnston back to even at 1-1. As for Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
