Baseball Game Preview: Windham Eagles vs. Sanford Spartans

The Windham Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Sanford Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sanford took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Windham, who comes in off a win.

Windham took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Portland. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Windham's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cayden McCartney, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave McCartney a new career-high. Another was Mike Redlon, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Sanford's offense. They fell 4-0 to Massabesic on Friday.

Sanford also got a good showing from Brayden Baron, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Sanford's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Windham, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.
