Softball Recap: Southeastern Comes Up Short

Southeastern and Ranburne squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Southeastern had to settle for second. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ana Philips and Taylor Moon stepped up to the plate in a big way. Philips went 3-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Moon went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Davlin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

Southeastern's loss dropped their record down to 23-14. As for Ranburne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-16 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Southeastern beat Ranburne by a score of 6-5 later that day.
