Softball Recap: Platt Panthers vs. South Windsor Bobcats
Platt gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the South Windsor Bobcats 14-13. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.
Amelia Gostkowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and nine unearned) runs on 12 hits.
On the hitting side, Skyler Wisniewski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Gostkowski, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Coming up, Platt will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Maloney at 3:00 p.m. As for South Windsor, they will challenge Rockville at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
