Baseball Game Preview: Bozeman Bucks vs. Marianna Bulldogs

The Bozeman Bucks will face off against the Marianna Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bozeman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Marianna's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Thursday, Bozeman earned a 4-1 win over Rutherford.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Marianna, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Wakulla 9-1 on Wednesday.

Jackson Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Parker Willis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Marianna's success: when he posts at least one home run the team is 3-1 (and 8-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Torin Clark-Hussey, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Marianna hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wakulla struck out ten times.

Marianna's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Bozeman, their win bumped their record up to 20-4.

Everything went Bozeman's way against Marianna in their previous meeting back in March, as Bozeman made off with an 8-0 victory. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
