Martin County waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 victory over the Pasquotank County Panthers.

Leading Martin County to victory were Jordan Matthewson and Jah Sheppard. Matthewson rushed for 115 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, while Sheppard rushed for 105 yards on only 14 carries. Matthewson didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles.

Martin County's run defense was locked in: Pasquotank County could only muster three yards per carry. While two picked up at least 11 total tackles, Matthewson stood above the rest. He rushed for 115 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Martin County didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged seven.

Martin County's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Pasquotank County, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Martin County will challenge Currituck County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pasquotank County, they will face off against First Flight at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Nighthawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.71 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
