Recap: Evangelical Christian Eagles vs. First Assembly Christian Crusaders

The Evangelical Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by First Assembly Christian at home and fell 61-22. Evangelical Christian has struggled against the Crusaders recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

First Assembly Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danae Kennedy, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Kennedy hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for ten straight games. Kamdyn Thomas was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with four steals.

Evangelical Christian dropped their record down to 1-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for First Assembly Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-10.

Coincidentally, Evangelical Christian and the Crusaders will both be playing the Lions the next time they take the court. First Assembly Christian will head out to face Harding Academy at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, while Evangelical Christian will head out to face them at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
