Carson Medina Delivers Best Effort of Season

On Friday, Escalon got the W thanks in part to Carson Medina playing the best football he has all season. Medina rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

This season, Medina has run in those 1 touchdown while averaging 23.7 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 0.57 rushing yards per game.

Hilmar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. Ellerd and Hilmar will be playing in front of their home fans against Hughson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cady Came Up Big in Ripon Christian's 43-20 Defeat

Ripon Christian had to settle for second on Friday, but Amos Cady sure wasn't going down easily. Nobody could stop Cady as he picked up 61 receiving yards, and also rushed for 54 yards.

Ripon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. They and Orestimba are set to duel on Friday.

Caden Bailey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hilmar over Summerville

The second Hilmar player making an appearance here is Caden Bailey, and for good reason. He rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

Bailey is probably looking forward to his next game, a home matchup against Hughson on Friday. Bailey rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry the last time he and the Huskies duked it out back in October of 2023.
