Baseball Recap: A.J. Ellender Takes a Loss

A.J. Ellender came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 20-1 to the Vandebilt Catholic Terriers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

A.J. Ellender saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadyn Guidry, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

A.J. Ellender's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A.J. Ellender will welcome Riverside Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vandebilt Catholic, they will be playing at home against Iowa at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
