Union Grove had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Waskom on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand the Wildcats an 8-0 shutout. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 2nd (when they won 16-5).

The victory got Union Grove back to even at 8-8. As for Waskom, their loss dropped their record down to 8-15-1.

Union Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
