It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Rockmart can now relate to. They and the Burke County Bears were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but they suffered a 41-40 defeat. The Yellowjackets were up 20 in the second, but they couldn't quite seal the deal.

When it comes to explaining why Rockmart lost, don't look at Nate Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 250 yards and four scores while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 116 rushing yards. Rockmart also got help from Aa'Darian Samples, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Sean Vandiver was his usual excellent self, rushing for 110 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 221 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt for Burke County. That's the most passing touchdowns Vandiver has posted since back in August. Burke County's leading receiver Will Joyner was Vandiver's top target yet again, picking up 56 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
