Baseball Recap: Rifle Victorious

Rifle won the last time they faced Glenwood Springs and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Bears walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Demons. With that win, the Bears brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Remington Decrow, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Camden Kerns was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Rifle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Rifle and bumps their season record up to 2-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Glenwood Springs, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rifle will venture away from home to square off against Summit at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
