Volleyball Recap: McMinn County Cherokees vs. Rhea County Golden Eagles
McMinn County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Rhea County Golden Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.
McMinn County may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored zero points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.
Rhea County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ella Kelley, who had nine digs and three aces. That's the most aces Kelley has posted over her last four matches. Another player making a difference was Kindale Rumer, who had 13 assists.
McMinn County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Rhea County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McMinn County will welcome Meigs County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rhea County, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Soddy Daisy at 6:30 p.m.
