Volleyball Recap: Buckingham Charter Takes a Loss

Buckingham Charter lost against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Knights took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolves. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Buckingham Charter still got an impressive performance from Addelyn Widmer, who had 13 kills, three blocks, and three aces. Widmer is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had seven or more in each of the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Taylor, who had nine kills and one block.

Buckingham Charter's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Buckingham Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Sacramento Adventist on the 9th. As for Western Sierra Collegiate Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Valley Christian on the 7th.
