Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Starts Season with Loss on the Road + How To Watch

Cabrillo kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Templeton Eagles. The Conquistadores were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

While Cabrillo ultimately came up short, they really made Templeton work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-11, 25-27, 25-20.

Leila Kiesling paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up 11 kills. Kiesling were helped by Taylor Savella and Jazlene Brady, who contributed 11 assists each. Finally, Brady Smith kept Cabrillo's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Cabrillo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Nipomo on the 21st. As for Templeton, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Santa Ynez on the 21st.
