Basketball Recap: Crisp County Takes a Loss

Crisp County was the 50-44 winner over Turner County when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Crisp County Cougars took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Turner County Titans on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Crisp County still got an impressive performance from Zakariyya Dwight, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Dwight a new career-high in rebounds. Caden Lofton was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Crisp County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Crisp County's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Turner County, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

Crisp County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 79-54 victory against Hawkinsville on the 21st. As for Turner County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-51 win against Wheeler County on the 21st.
