Softball Recap: Falkner Comes Up Short

Falkner suffered their closest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Biggersville Lions by a score of 11-9. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ella Mauney and Mia McDaniel did some serious damage despite the final result: Mauney went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while McDaniel scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Mauney is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stole at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Emma Mauney also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Falkner's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Biggersville, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Coming up, Falkner will take on New Site at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Falkner is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season. As for Biggersville, they will square off against Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
