While Rocky River's victory against Buckeye wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Bucks 3-2. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Bucks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (102-100) Rocky River actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 17-25, 27-25, 16-25, 15-9.

Maeve Sheridan paced Rocky River's offense, picking up 13 kills. Sheridan got some help from Kylie Spies and her 29 assists. Sarah Pfahl controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Rocky River now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Buckeye, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Rocky River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Fairview on the 30th. As for Buckeye, they will face off against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
