Baseball Recap: Hickory Flat Takes a Loss

Hickory Flat lost to Independence on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rebels came up short against the Wildcats, falling 20-3.

Nick Talley made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Liam Thrasher was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Hickory Flat's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Independence, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory Flat will welcome Wheeler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rosa Fort at 5:30 p.m. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
