Basketball Recap: KACHEA Takes a Loss

If KACHEA was riding high fresh off their 79-48 takedown of Appalachian Christian HomeSchool last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The KACHEA Wildcats were beaten by the Tri-Cities Christian Eagles 80-44 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Eagles are ranked 65th).

Tri-Cities Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Christopher Mulumbela led the charge by going 7 of 12 en route to 14 points and six rebounds. Lofton Looney was another key player, going 9 for 12 on his way to 16 points.

KACHEA's loss dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Tri-Cities Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 20-11.

KACHEA has already played their next game, a 64-58 defeat against Jenkins on the 1st. As for Tri-Cities Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, an 80-71 win against Knox Central on the 1st.
