Baseball Recap: Oakland Oakers vs. Myrtle Point Bobcats

Oakland had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it six. They lost 13-3 to the Myrtle Point Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Monday.

Gaige Perry made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Myrtle Point, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 7.8 runs per game.

On Myrtle Point's side, they got a massive performance out of Jake Sproul, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Sproul's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sawyer Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Oakland will take on Clatskanie in a tournament on Thursday. As for Myrtle Point, they will challenge Pleasant Hill at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
