Basketball Recap: Washington Leadership Academy Find Success

Washington Leadership Academy lost to Idea back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. Washington Leadership Academy came out on top against the Idea Timberwolves by a score of 64-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Washington Leadership Academy.

Idea's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kaidyn Lewis, who went 6 for 12 to rack up 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Sidy Koite, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. With that strong performance, Koite is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Tobias Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The win got Washington Leadership Academy back to even at 12-12. As for Idea, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-14.

Washington Leadership Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Idea, they will face off against DC International at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. DC International is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season.
