Basketball Game Preview: Harper Creek Beavers vs. Sturgis Trojans

The Harper Creek Beavers will face off against the Sturgis Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Harper Creek lost to Marshall at home by a 60-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Redhawks are ranked 140th).

Meanwhile, Sturgis came up short against Paw Paw on Friday and fell 70-61. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Red Wolves recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Sturgis now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Harper Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Harper Creek strolled past Sturgis in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a score of 50-34. Does Harper Creek have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sturgis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
