Recap: Incarnate Word Academy Angels vs. Aransas Pass Panthers

The Incarnate Word Academy Angels came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over Aransas Pass. Given Incarnate Word Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while Aransas Pass is ranked 1198th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Emma Romanczyk was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lily Herandez, who scored 12 points.

Incarnate Word Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Aransas Pass, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games.
