Soccer Game Preview: Modesto vs. Pitman

The Modesto Panthers will face off against the Pitman Pride at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Modesto's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Modesto challenged Gregori on Tuesday. Neither the Panthers nor the Jaguars could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pitman, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Downey 2-1 on Tuesday.

Christian Flores and Damyan Guevara scored both of Pitman's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Pitman pushed their record up to 12-3-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matchups. Modesto's draw makes their record 9-8-6 this season.
