Baseball Recap: Portola Extends Winning Streak to Two

15 must be Portola's lucky number: they beat Williams with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Tigers didn't even let the Yellowjackets on the board, marking the Tigers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Portola got a massive performance out of Emery Powell, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave Powell a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricky Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Portola always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The win made it two in a row for Portola and bumps their season record up to 7-12. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Williams, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
