Football Recap: Westborough Comes Up Short

Westborough fell victim to Wachusett Regional and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Mountaineers, falling 31-0. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 30th).

Westborough is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. As for Wachusett Regional, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westborough is set to face off against their familiar foe Leominster at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wachusett Regional will square off against rival Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
