Baseball Recap: Slater Drops Season-High Score on Santa Fe

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slater). They blew past the Santa Fe Chiefs 12-0 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Slater got a massive performance out of Isaac Larson, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That double marked the first that Larson has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Tytan Wiseman, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Slater is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Fe, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Slater will take on Glasgow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Santa Fe, they will face off against Wellington-Napoleon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
