Baseball Recap: Myrtle Beach Triumphs

Myrtle Beach won against Socastee last Wednesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Seahawks walked away with a 7-3 win over the Braves. The victory continues a trend for the Seahawks in their matchups with the Braves: they've now won three in a row.

Myrtle Beach let Jacob Edwards and Julian Neagles run wild. Edwards went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI, while Neagles scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Neagles a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julio Delfin, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Myrtle Beach's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Socastee, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Myrtle Beach will face off against rival Carolina Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Seahawks 3.8, the Panthers 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Socastee is set to challenge their familiar foe Conway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
