The West Wendover Wolverines will take on the Oasis Academy Bighorns at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. One thing working in West Wendover's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four games.
The home team had won the previous two meetings between West Wendover and Incline, and West Wendover kept the tradition alive. The Wolverines walked away with a 10-7 win over the Highlanders on Saturday. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Danny Soriano made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Tavian Gonzalez was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Carrillo, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
West Wendover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .529 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Oasis Academy's offense. They came up short against West Wendover last Saturday, falling 15-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Bighorns' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
West Wendover's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Oasis Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Wendover has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .470. However, it's not like Oasis Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
