Basketball Recap: McCook Bison vs. Hastings Tigers
If Hastings wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played McCook, they should've done a better job of containing Alice Weimer. The McCook Bison walked away with a 56-48 win over the Hastings Tigers on Monday which was due in part to Weimer, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 19 points and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Bortner, who went 5-for-10 en route to 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played.
Despite the loss, Hastings still got an impressive performance from Makenzie Nollette, who went 10-for-17 on her way to 25 points and three steals. Hastings is 3-1 when Nollette posts three or more steals, but 1-17 otherwise. Hallie Schultz also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.
McCook's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Hastings, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season.
McCook didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-47 loss against Northwest on the 25th. Hastings does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
