Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

If Roosevelt was feeling good fresh off their 49-22 takedown of Lincoln last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Roosevelt Rough Riders lost 67-47 to the Washington Warriors on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while the Warriors are ranked tenth).

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will venture away from home to square off against Aberdeen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Washington, they will head out to take on Tea at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
