Baseball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran suffered their closest defeat since February 21st on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Central Texas Christian Lions by a score of 13-11. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Keegan Stinson stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Lutheran is 4-1 when Stinson posts three or more RBI, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Fiorenza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Lutheran's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Central Texas Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lutheran is set to take on their familiar foe Faith Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central Texas Christian will square off against rival Live Oak Classical at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
