The Abington Heights Comets will square off against the West Scranton Invaders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Abington Heights has four straight victories, West Scranton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
If Abington Heights beats West Scranton with 11 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Comets put the hurt on Scranton Prep with a sharp 11-1 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Comets, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adrianna Condrad made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cecelia O'Malley was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Avary Brister, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Abington Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scranton Prep only posted an OBP of .111.
Meanwhile, West Scranton fell victim to North Pocono and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 10-0.
Abington Heights pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Scranton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.
West Scranton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Abington Heights has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .472. It's a different story for West Scranton, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Abington Heights' hitters?
