Baseball Recap: Ursuline Drops Highest Score of Season Against Crestview

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ursuline). They put the hurt on the Crestview Rebels with a sharp 16-7 win on Wednesday. The Fighting Irish have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rebels, too.

Joe Balog was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Snyder, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ursuline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.6.

Ursuline's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Crestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Ursuline will be playing at home against Struthers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crestview, they are taking a road trip to face off against Champion at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
