Softball Preview: Modoc Braves vs. Weed Cougars

Modoc has been on the road for four straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Weed Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Modoc is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.

In what's become a running theme this season, Modoc gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Mt. Shasta as Modoc made off with a 14-4 victory.

Caelli DePaul made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. DePaul has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive pitching appearances. DePaul was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aubree Knighton, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Julianna Minto was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
