Softball Recap: Lone Tree Takes a Loss

If Lone Tree was riding high fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Pekin on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Wapello Indians by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Lions have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Lone Tree's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Wapello, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Lone Tree will welcome Holy Trinity Catholic on Monday. As for Wapello, they will head out to take on Central Lee at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
