Baseball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. Pascagoula Panthers

For the second straight game, Long Beach will face off against Pascagoula. The Bearcats will head out to take on the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Long Beach took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Pascagoula, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bearcats skirted past the Panthers 7-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Caden Ahrens looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Long Beach is 3-1 when Ahrens allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Will Brady was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Walker Cooke also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Pascagoula moved to 8-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Long Beach, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-10.
