Basketball Game Preview: Lake Center Christian Tiger vs. Chippewa Chipps

The Lake Center Christian Tiger and the Chippewa Chipps will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Lake Center Christian will head into Friday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rootstown last Friday. Lake Center Christian claimed a resounding 61-30 victory over Rootstown. Given the Tiger's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while the Rovers are ranked 699th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Chippewa, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Rittman with a sharp 65-42 win on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Chipps as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lake Center Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Chippewa, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Lake Center Christian skirted past Chippewa 66-63 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Center Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
