Basketball Recap: Willsboro Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Willsboro Central had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Chazy Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-27 defeat.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carly LaPierre, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. LaPierre is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Howell, who posted 16 points.

Willsboro Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Chazy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willsboro Central will face off against Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Chazy, they will square off against Crown Point at 6:30 p.m. on February 4th.
