Softball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Springfield on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Senators by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Senators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-4 back in April.

Lincoln's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Lincoln will be playing at home against Rantoul at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Springfield, they will venture away from home to square off against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
