Football Recap: Hueytown Drops Season-High Score on Mcadory + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hueytown). They managed a 43-38 win over the McAdory Yellowjackets on Friday. The Golden Gophers haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Hueytown had a senior duo take command as Quentrell Jackson picked up 123 receiving yards and one score and Kobe Coleman picked up 112 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 123 receiving yards set a new season-high mark for Jackson.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Derrion Davis, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Feagin, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Hueytown now has a winning record of 4-3. As for McAdory, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Hueytown and McAdory should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Golden Gophers (ranked 33rd) will meet Brookwood (ranked 195th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, McAdory will face off against Paul W. Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (40 vs. 238).
