If Ben Davis was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lawrence Central on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Giants came up short against the North Central Panthers on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Giants' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Ben Davis was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Despite the defeat, Ben Davis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Desron Beauchamp had 13 assists and nine digs. Beauchamp is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Ben Davis' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-6. As for North Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Ben Davis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Irvington Preparatory Academy on the 8th. As for North Central, they will take on Lawrence North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
