Volleyball Recap: Arrowhead Wins High-Profile Match Against Pewaukee

Arrowhead faced Pewaukee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Warhawks blew past the Pirates 3-0. The Warhawks have beaten the Pirates the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pirates has come to flipping the script.

One reason for the win was Arrowhead's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-14.

Leading Arrowhead to victory were Siena MacCudden and Georgia House. MacCudden had 23 digs and six assists, while House had 13 digs and three aces. That's the most assists MacCudden has posted over her last 17 matchups. Maggie Strickland also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Pewaukee's loss came despite strong showings from Hannah Padilla and Aubrey Padilla. Hannah had 14 assists and five digs, while Aubrey had nine digs and one assist.

Arrowhead's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Pewaukee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-10 record this season.

Coincidentally, Arrowhead and Pewaukee will both be playing Kettle Moraine the next time they take the court. The Warhawks will head out to face the Lasers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pirates will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on the 9th.
