Basketball Recap: LOVELY GABRIEL's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Centennial

It was a good run, but Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Centennial Eagles by a score of 57-55. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cobras this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-54 back in December of 2024.

Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was LOVELY GABRIEL, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. That's the most points GABRIEL has posted since back in December of 2024. SUMMER STONE was another key player, putting up 15 points and five rebounds.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Centennial, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Central has already played their next match, a 58-44 defeat against North Florida Educational Institute on the 24th. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-60 loss against Somerset Prep on the 27th.
