Basketball Recap: Toronto Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tatum Derrington and Jayna Reeves

Toronto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 57-39 to the Catholic Central Crusaders. The Red Knights were down 46-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Jayna Reeves and Tatum Derrington certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Reeves almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards, while Derrington dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The match was Reeves' third in a row with at least 16 points.

Even though they lost, Toronto smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in nine consecutive games.

Toronto's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Catholic Central, they pushed their record up to 14-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Toronto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catholic Central, they will take on Hiland at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
