It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hoover had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Magnificat Blue Streaks a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Hoover and bumps their season record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Magnificat, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-17.

Coming up, Hoover will challenge Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Vikings 2.7, the Blue Devils 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Magnificat does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
