Softball Recap: Northside Comes Up Short

After flying high against Alma on Monday, Northside came back down to earth. The Grizzlies lost 10-1 to the Bentonville Tigers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

Amariah Greene was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Alay'Jah Mays also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Northside has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Bentonville, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Coincidentally, Northside and Bentonville will both be playing Bentonville West the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Grizzlies will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
