Recap: Litchfield Purple Panthers vs. East Alton-Wood River Oilers
The Litchfield Purple Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 26 points or more this season. They took their matchup on the road on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 70-36 win over East Alton-Wood River. With Litchfield ahead 43-19 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Litchfield's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victor Mcgill, who scored 17 points along with three steals. The matchup was Mcgill's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Dobrinich, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Litchfield's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for East Alton-Wood River, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Carlinville the next time they take the court. Litchfield will head out to face Carlinville at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while East Alton-Wood River will head out to face them at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
