Baseball Recap: Archmere Academy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Caesar Rodney

Archmere Academy faced Caesar Rodney in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Auks came up short against the Riders, falling 11-1. The Auks haven't had much luck with the Riders recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Archmere Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Caesar Rodney, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archmere Academy will take on Newark Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caesar Rodney, they will head out to face off against Sussex Central at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Riders 2.8, the Golden Knights 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
